Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, born April 26, 1991, and professionally referred to by the name Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the first female artist to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. On the 21st of October, 2016 she debuted Pho the debut EP on the label Dreamville Records. This was when she began to gain recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut album, was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music on the internet in 2012 when she launched her mixtape debut Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. The singer continued uploading her music on the internet in 2014, including her self-released single Bound. Her music was also featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes which was released in Sweat It Out on July 21, 2015. J. Cole asked her to join him in collaboration for Rihanna's references. Then, later in the calendar, her songs was circulating all over Dreamville. In December, it was revealed 8th, that she'd joined Dreamville Records. On the record Revenge of the Dreamers II, she appeared on the song Backseat along with Cozz. She dropped Pho, her debut EP, on October 21st, 2016. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening artist in support of J. Cole on his track Change in 2017, and performed on 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. She also appeared on the track Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus together with Bas and her labelmates. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on the 16th of July in 2018. A music video was then released in September. In November, she dropped the singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. In November, 13 the singer released two new singles entitled the No One as well as Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby was released with her debut single February 26, 2019 to accompany the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby appeared with Cole in The Creed II sound track on November 16. The track was accompanied by the music video which debuted in February 20, 2019, and reached 3 million views on YouTube in the first week. In December 2018 she was an opening act for her From East Atlanta With Love Tour together with 6LACK.
